We went on a Hawaiian Cruise this fall. 16 nights roundtrip from Vancouver on the Ruby Princess! We left about 6 hours late because of a mandatory MES drill.
After a few days at sea, taking photos of the texture of the water doesn't seem that odd. This photo also has a flying fish in it.
Our first stop was Kona on The Big Island, Hawai'i. Our excursion included the southernmost bakery in the US, a black sand beach, and Volcanoes National Park.
Our next port was Honolulu on Oahu. We hiked up Diamond Head in the morning.
The Diamond Head guide suggested walking to Foster Botanical Garden in the afternoon.
We saw butterflies on the way to the gardens.
The gardens also had a butterfly garden.
Some trees in the gardens were extremely large.
The corpse plant wasn't blooming when we were there.
It took a while to get this photo.
Shoes were thrown during the taking of this photo.
The guide also suggested seeing Iolani Palace.
From the port of Nawiliwili on Kauai, we went biking along the coast.
Our last port of call was Kahului on Maui. Our excursion was a waterfall hike with lots of sampling of fruit and plants.
It took us a long time to leave port. I think the kayakers were in the way.
We didn't get too dressed up for the formal nights.
We arrived back in Vancouver about 12 hours early to perform a mandatory MES drill. They must have failed the earlier one?
And here's some video from the cruise.
